January 13, 2009

Dear Family,
This past week was a tough week. We had a hard time finding people home. Both for teaching and for finding. But we taught 20 lessons which is what Elder L. tom Perry wants us to do each week.
We don't have anybody on a baptismal date. Everybody has a hard time coming to church, most of our investigators are just to lazy.
I'm trying to get the ward more involved by having them invite our investigators to their home, so we can teach with our members. I hope that this will be better for our investigators, and will get them to come to church.
Today we are going to the temple. Monday was a regular day. And today Tuesday is p-day. the only bad thing about going to the temple is that it takes most of the day. And by the time we get back home we don't have time to wash our clothes or clean. But it doesn't really matter.
This last Sunday Erik Castillo received the Aaronic priesthood. I stood in the circle and Bishop Lybeth gave it to him. It's good to see him progress so fast. He get's me excited to find those who are ready.
All the snow is gone. Finally no more soaked feet. Last week it got up to the high thirties so it melted quickly. Spokane still has snow but it's melting too.
Elder Oliver is a good missionary. He learns quickly and isn't afraid to talk to people. Now that I look back I was afraid to talk to people, but it's nothin now. I enjoy talking to people and also speaking Spanish. Spanish is comin slow but Elder Oliver likes to speak Spanish more so that's a big help.
We're now heading home from the stores. It was a good session. The temple is really pretty. It was a good day. We'll talk next week.
Love Elder Garrett
