March 9, 2009

Dear Family,
This past week I had a lot of good experiences. Both in the scriptures when I study as well as on the street with the people. We are tracting in the white part if Warden. They aren't rude but but won't leave the door open longer than 10 seconds. We are almost done with the city so we will start again shortly. We will start in the more Hispanic area so we will be ablt to find some more investigators.
This past week has been really windy. which makes it cold. But I have gotten use to it. Spring is almost here, I can't wait for the summer. but on the other hand I don't because every Hispanic will work long hours, so it will be really hard for us to catch them home.
About a week or two weeks ago we had interviews with our mission president. He said that I will stay here for a couple more transfers, which will be good because I love Warden. The members, and area are really goood.
Every P-day Elder Oliver and I watch the testament in spanish, so I can learn faster. but we will apply some of the things they say to the work. Like when Jacob is frusterated with his dad and says "why aren't you happy for me?" then his dad says "I am happy for you. but I'm sad that your happiness cannot last." But when we are by ourselves we will say parts like that one but adjust it to what happened to us. I can't explain it but it's pretty funny.
I told you a while back about a guy named Willie, he is the one that we tried ti help with his alcohol but left and said he doesn't want contact with the church. Well his son "boy" came to church. I guess Willie is coming around little by little. Hopefully before I leave I can see him again.
Well time to go. Talk to you next week.
Love Elder Garrett
