Dear family,
This past week alot of interesting things happened. First on friday the night before Hadi's baptism, Pres. Clark called and said he wanted to meet with him. Because earlier Hadi asked if he could have the baptism and conformaiton done in private. So Pres. Clark came down to talk with him. At 7:00 Pres. Clark and Bishop Lybbert met us at the church. Elder Scoggin went with Bishop to visit a family. And Pres. Clark and I went to Hadi's house. Pres. Clark asked about his residency because he is from Iraq. Also other questions regarding safety. It was neat and interesting. I like Pres. Clark he is a good leader and you can feel the spirit that is with him.
Something also happened friday. Every muscle and bone of mine was extremely sore. It felt like I was having a growth spurt. When we got home I checled my temp and it was 99. The Robertson's gave me some advil. It kind of worked. Saturday morning I woke up with 100.5 temp. I was in bed for most of the day and in the bathroom the rest. We don't go out on saturday. The mission Dr. called me and said it was the stomach flu. He told me to just drink fluids.
Then on sunday, I woke up with a temp of 101. The pain was alot worse. I missed church and didn't work too. By Sunday night I hadn't eaten anything since friday night. I ate little things here and there, but I threw up most of what i ate. On monday my fever was down to 96. I spent the morning in bed but at 12:00 we went out to work. We had a lesson with Erick. Then went to Brother Whitakers house to eat lunch. I didn't eat anything. By now I've lsot 10 lb. Later that night we called a preist to go with Elder Scoggin while I stayed at the Whitakers. This morning I woke up in a sweat but I ate some top ramen and I'm gradually getting better. Hopefully I'll be good by tomorrow.
Hadi will be baptized this saturday. I will send some pictgures. I won't be able to write any one else unless it's an email. It was giving me a headache to write this one. I got my box, I was excited about the ties. But the pink one will be a one timer.
This upcoming week will be good, we will be able to get caught up for missing two days. Your lucky I wrote such a long letter, but I need to go lay down. I'll write to you all next week.
Love, Elder Garrett
