July 13, 2009

Dear Family,

The weeks keep going by faster and faster. Seems like yesterday I left Warden. But I have been here for 4 weeks. I really like it here. I like that we are covering a lot of cities. Because we are almost done tracting all of Brewster. And all of our potentials aren't any more. So we have very few people to see. So when we work almost any city it is just tracting all day. I mean from 12:00 to 9:00. Door after door. I don't like talking to white people they always try and argue with us. But we have 4 people who have a desire to be baptized.

We were going to have a baptism here but the girls dad said no, so we will wait a couple more weeks. That's when the Cherry's stop. Most of the Hispanics are in the orchards picking. Hadi Abbas was baptized on July 3rd. I don't know if I told you but he was the Iraq guy. Elder Skoggin baptized him in 2 ft. of water. The zone leaders didn't fill it up in time. So Hadi had to lay down flat on his back. I wish I could have been their but it was done.
I got the box last Monday. My companion and I enjoyed all of the food. It would have been cool to watch the fire works with the 3D glasses. But Thank you so much for the box. They can turn a week around. Thank you for everything.

Love Elder Garrett
