Oct 20, 2008

Dear Family,
This past week went by fast. It's starting to get cold but not to the point where I need gloves. We are wearing suits all day every day from the last general conference till the next general conference. When we come out of an appointment it's cold but as soon as we start riding our bikes we get warm.
Last monday I bought some eggs, ham, and cheese, also salsa, and tortillas. I cooked six omelets in a plastic bag and then put them in the fridge. So every morning I had an omelet with salsa. And I also love the tortillas so instead of using a fork I eat it with tortillas. Kind of like a breakfast burrito but in peices. It's really good and it's a change from cereal. I also saw pre-made crepes. I tried some but they weren't as good as home. Mom can you send me the recipe.
We have this investigator who is going through alot of problems. Her name is Summer and she is american, she is 19 years old. I am a week older than her. She is married to a hispanic named Javier. Summer learned spanish from him. They have a little boy named Adon, he is 6 months old. The problem she has is that Javier expects her to do everything. She finally got sick of him to the point where she kicked him out. but he doesn't want to leave. He's not doing anything serious, it's just that he is lazy. She likes us and wants to learn more about the church. She is praying to know if it is true, and she wants to change her life so it will be better for her son. but she has a lot of bad influences, and a lot of personal problems to change. But she is willing so that is good.
For Halloween night we are going to have district meeting for the last 3 1/2 hour of the night. So we won't be outside.
We usually are with our companions longer than six weeks but Elder Frazier had been in Wenatchee for so long it was time for him to go.
My senior year went by way to fast. Britney make sure you make every moment count. President Monson gave a talk about the time we have. It's in the ensign April 2008 issue. The first talk, I really liked it.
Well I started writing this letter at 11:00 a.m. and now it's 5:30 p.m. that's kind of how busy we are. But till next week.
Love
Elder Garrett
