Dear Family,
I'm no longer in Kansas. Warden is a huge difference from Wenatchee. It is small, way small. It's so small that when we tract, people know who we are because the whole town can be tracked in less than a month. I asked one guy how often he gets missionaries at his door. He said about twice a month. However just because everybody is anoyed doesn't mean that we don't have investigators.
About 2 months ago a guy named Victor Medina was baptized. And on the 23rd of November we had a baptism service for his kids. The oldest is Maria 12, Jose' 10, and Aaron 8. It was a good service. The dad got up and bore a powerful testimony. Then his wife who isn't a member stood up and said she would want to be batized in the future. So another good investigator to work with. this is a hispanic family. Now there is something weird that I have seen in some hispanic families, the parents speak only spanish, hardly any english. Then the kids speak english and hardly any spanish. How they communicate is beyond me. It's also really sad because they can't get to know one another, ask for help, or nothin. The parents put the kids in front of the TV and let them watch english programs, sad!
We also have another baptism for this next Sunday. His name is Eric, he is about 14 and nobody in his family are members of any curch. He loves to read and doesn't think church is long enough. That will be a good service.
My new companion's name is Elder Jacobson, he has been out one transfer less than me. His Spanish is good. We are about the same in speaking. But I can understand a little bit more. His old companion Elder Tinsmith finished his mission, so for the last two months he was trunky or lazy. The first day I got to Warden I saw the car and I was sick. It was a mess, then we went to the apartment and it was mess. The bathroom was never cleaned so it had stains all over. So today we organized the car and I cleaned the bathroom. It was nasty but it's clean now. Also my companion gets a little lazy with the rules but he's comin around to being a great missionary.
I have met alot of Lisa's family up here. They are really nice and love to help us with the work. We have a few thanksgiving dinners planned out. We went to Moses Lake to play dodgeball it was fun to run around. Well my time is up so I'll write to you all next week.
Love, Elder Garrett
