Dear Family,
This past week had it's up and it's very down parts. This past tuesday we picked up Elder Pena. We are short a missionary so their is an odd number. So their is 3 here. There is a lot of work for the three of us. Every day of the week we did splits and we covered alot of ground. We found 6 new investigators through the church. Some members told us about them. It was going really well, we were teaching alot as well as finding. I think I told you about a guy named Willie Clark. This is the guy when Elder Jacovson and I visisted on thanksgiving. Well Willie is a big alcholic, so we were thinking of something we could do to help him quit. So we decided to have a meeting with him, and the bishop and his counselers. And also a guy named Franky Ramon. He is a friend of Wille. so friday night is when we tried to set up a meeting. So during the week we told him about a special meeting. We didn't tell him exactly what was going to happen, becuase he never would come. So that night he came and Elder Oliver stayed behind. Elder Pena and I went and visited some families. Later that night when we met up they told us what happened. They sat down and started to talk and only 5 minutes went by when Willie asked if this was for him. Bishop said "yes" and willie got up and left. Franky and one of the counselors ran after him to let him know that they are only trying to help. Willie started yelling and swearing in the church so his friend tried to calm him down. Willie told one of the counselors he didn't want anybody from the church to visit him. His daughter Charity is a member and now since Wille hates the church she can't come. I hope sometime in the future he will be able to see that we were just trying to help. Also that he will be able to let his kids go back to church. I felt really bad, I had a good freindship with him. But hopefully I will be able to talk to him.
I got your box one of the Kool-aid bottles broke and juice got all over it. But it wasn't to bad. The treats were really good. Elder Oliver was glad to get some. This next week will be better. Alot of things we can do. Elder Pena and Elder Oliver are helping me alot with Spanish.
It's a good thing it's official, because I wasn't sure if Brandon knew the order in how you plan a wedding. Not like I know how but I know you should ask first, and then schedule the temple!!
Love you all,
Love, Elder Garrett
