March 23, 2009

Dear Family,
This past week we received our transfer call. Turns out Elder Oliver is leaving. He will go to East Wenatchee and be with Elder Sessions. And I will stay here and train another new missionary. I'm excited to train again. I just hope the new Elder came out for the right reasons. I like Elder Oliver, but I'm glad he is leaving. I don't think we would be close friends out side the mission. His views and personality are "for me" not in tune with the work. But he still has alot of time to change.
This past week we had a bad wind storm. It blew alot of trees over. Bishop Lybbert had a tree blow over, so he called us up to help him cut it up and carry it away. I was really excited to help. So we went over and I was able to throw the logs around like I did when I was with Dad. I was covered in moss and sore the next day.
We have some great potential for April. I just hope our investigators won't be afraid of commitment. That would be the biggest down to a lot of them.
The only thing I can think of that I need for my birthday are garments. I might be ok with shirts.
It's almost time for us to take our suit coats off, not until conference, but then I can take them and get them dry cleaned.
Tomorrow I will go and pick up my new companion in Spokane. I still need to clean and get ready so I'll write to you later.
Love, Elder Garrett
