Dear Family,
This past week feels like its been 2 weeks! Mostly because I'm training and we have a small teaching pool. Elder Scoggin is from Thatcher, Arizona. He has an older sister who just graduated from boot camp and a younger brother. He worked in construction alot before his mission. He graduated and is an eagle scout. He is excited to be on his mission. He doesn't know any spanish. It's actually funny to listen to him talk. It reminds me of where I was and where I am now. I know alot of spanish, more than I give myself credit for. but he isn't shy about spreading the gospel. I'm lucky to be his first companion in the field.
It's a lot warmer up here, I'm not wearing my thermals any more. And thankfully I only have gotten sick only once. I can't wait to take off our coats. But I know when we do I'll wish for colder weather. The farmers are planting late this year. Brother Robertson farms with President Leavitt. He is a great guy he enjoys us in his home. He and his wife feed us every Saturday morning. She cooks a good breakfast.
All of our investigators are doing well. We just found a new family this past sunday. They are Hispanic and he goes to the Assembly of god. He let us in his home and asked what we had to offer. So we started talking about the gospel and how it can bless us and how God gives it to us. Then we shared a scripture Amos 3:7. He started to ask a little bit more about our beliefs. Then we told hin we have a living prophet today that receives revelation.
So he asked what things are being revealed. We told him about the food storage and families. Also aobut the great opportunity to come to General Conference. He kind of sat back and said "I have never heard that before" He and his family look great. I just hope there preacher doesn't stop them from learning.
Well that's all for now, Love ya Elder Garrett
